Over a period of eight nights of competition, the Centreventos
Cau Hansen stage receives groups from Brazil and overseas
selected to present works in seven classes: Classical
Repertoire Ballet, Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance,
Tap Dance, Jazz, Street Dance and Popular Dances.
To participate in the Competitive Presentation the groups
must undergo a selection process, conducted by the Joinville
Dance Festival Artistic Council. The Council, which is
renewed periodically, consists of four illustrious members
of the dance world. The Council analyzes the works sent
in on DVD or VHS recordings, according to the criteria
established in the Competitive Presentation regulations,
which are available on this site.
For the participants, this is a unique opportunity to
perform their works before a large public. This event
further provides a rich interchange among groups from
the various regions in Brazil as well as abroad, making
it much more than just a mere competition. |
