24th Joinville Dance Festival - 19 to 29 July 2006
Half Point / Regulations
Created in 2000 to encourage new generations, the Half Point Presentation is designed for those very young dancers who, over a period of three afternoons, give presentations in the following classes: Classical Repertoire Ballet, Classical Ballet, Popular Dances, Tap Dance, Jazz and Street Dance.
With its own structure, the presentation demonstrates the beauty of juvenile dance while enabling participants to develop artistically. This seventh edition, which runs parallel with the Joinville Dance Festival, will take place from 26th to 28th July, from 14:00 to 16:30 pm, in the Juarez Machado Theater, in the Centreventos Cau Hansen complex.

All groups participating in the Half Point give their presentations during the first two days. On the final day, those groups indicated by the judging panel for "Honorable Mention" return to the stage for a special presentation.

The Half Point is conducted in the same rigorous way as the adult Competitive Presentation. The only difference being specific standards which these younger dancers have to follow, such as the physical characteristics determined by their age.

Observation: the name Half Point Presentation is a trade name. It is the school's decision whether its students dance in half or full points.
