Experimentation, research, creativity and the endless
endeavor to perform concepts through new body languages
and expressions characterize contemporary dance which,
since 2001, has occupied an important place in the Joinville
Dance Festival program.
The Contemporary Dance Exhibition is an event that provides
dance companies and dancers with the opportunity to present
their work. It is not competitive, but is designed to
encourage investigative initiatives and to form an audience
for contemporary dance.
All spectacles are selected by the Artistic Committee
from the Joinville Dance Festival Institute. The sixth
edition of the Exhibition will be held from 21 to 23 July
2006.
1st Article - Selection
In order to enroll and participate in the 6th Contemporary
Dance Exhibition, the companies must undergo a prior selection
process, to be conducted in May 2006, by members of the
Artistic Committee of the Joinville Dance Festival Institute.
A) Groups wishing to participate in the selection
must send the following material to the Joinville Dance
Festival Institute, via courier, no later than 18 April
2006:
- Copy of the choreography enrolment form.
- Proof of release by SBAT and Ecad.
- Proof of Union membership.
- Notarized copy of DRT of each group member.
- Taped choreography (in DVD or VHS video tape, NTSC system).
- Material with information about the enrolled choreographies.
- Technical Rider (sound, light, scenery).
B) Selection results will be divulged within 45
days after selection enrollment deadline, on the Festival
site and sent to the press. Important: Tapes sent for the
selection will not be returned. 2nd
Article - Enrollment
Following the announcement of the results, the selected
groups will confirm their participation by e-mail to produção@festivaldedanca.com.br
no later than 10 June 2006 and will forward the following
documents to the Coordinating Committee:
- Room list (for accommodation).
- Information about the group/cast and the show for press
release (including clippings of articles published in
the press).
- Photos of the show (at least six, size 15x21 cm).
- Footage of the show recorded on Betacam tape.
3rd Article - The Institute offers:
- A fee of R$ 3,500.00 (for the presentation + workshop)
paid to the group on the day of the performance on presentation
of invoice).
- Cargo transport (shared, on the dates stipulated by
the producer of the event).
- Domestic airfares.
- Local transport.
- Food (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
- Accommodation (in a hotel recommended by the organizers).
- Guest ID tags, for free access to Festival spectacles.
NOTE: the Institute supplies airfares, local transport,
food and accommodation (two days) for up to eight group
members, 50% of whom must be dancers.
Important
- Presentations may take place in the Juarez Machado Theater
(in the Centreventos Cau Hansen complex) or in alternative
spaces, depending on the type of presentation given by
the Companies.
- After the spectacle, members of groups participating
in the Exhibition are invited to participate in a dialogue
with the public in the theater.
- On the day following the presentation, each group participating
in the Exhibition will conduct a free workshop for choreographers
participating in the Festival.
